SDSN Public School was founded by Mr. JAGJEEWAN PRASAD on 1 JULY 2008 at Chhota Bharwara, a remote corner of Lucknow. The name SDSN stands ‘for “SHRI DURGA SHIKSHA NIKETAN”. Admission to a class is based on child’s performance in the entrance examination.

Educational System

Shri Durga Shiksha Niketan Public School, Chhota Bharwara, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. Aims at imparting quality education to student, moldings them into responsible and patriotic citizens of the country. Here the child is the focus of educational transaction, therefore the school lays emphasis on the inculcation on self reliance, active participation and overall excellence. The curriculum has been planned keeping in view, the true spirit and ideals of the Constitution of India, with objectives leading towards making of complete individuals academically, aesthetically, socially and morally.

The school has the following sections:-
(a) Pre-Primary : Class Pre. Nursery to K.G
(b) Primary : Class 1 to V
(c) Middle : Class VI and VIII
(d) Secondary : Class IX and X
(e) Senior Secondary : Class XI and XII

The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (New Delhi) which is one of the two recognized and approved all India Boards of Secondary Education. The Board administers two public examinations:- (a) Secondary School Examination at the end of Class X. (Both Options available-School based & Board conducted.)
(b) The Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination at the end of Class XII.
Both the examinations are held in March. Under the pattern of Ten Plus Two Plus Three adopted by the country, the Ten Plus Two can be completed in School. The Plus Two (Class XII) examination is recognized by Inter Universities Board for entry into a three year graduate course to any university leading to a Bachelor’s degree and for entrance to NDA, medical, engineering and other professional colleges.

Courses of Studies from Class I to Class X

The medium of instruction is English with Hindi as a second language. The course of studies upto Class X provides for a general, all round education and examines the students in English, Hindi, Mathematics, the Sciences, Social Science, Art Education, Health and physical Education and Work Experience.
Art of Healthy and Productive Living (AHPL) is a part of the curriculum for Classes I to V. It involves learning by doing. AHPL develops a child’s mind and soul to enable him/ her to develop a healthy attitude towards life.
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been implemented in Classes I to X. This scheme is a curricular initiative that shifts emphasis from testing to holistic learning.

Plus-Tow Subject (Class XI to XII)

The Plus Two syllabus is career oriented and we have provided for the following groups.

General Studies, Work Experience, Computer Literacy, physical and Health Education are compulsory subjects for all groups.
Outreach Programmes for Classes IX to XI are also conducted.
